After Hurricane Katrina, Environmental Defense wanted to let the public know how humans helped cause that massive destruction. Wetlands serve as a natural barrier, lessening the impact of storms before they hit populated land, and by degrading them severely over the years, we left New Orleans without its natural protection.

This full page ad in the New York Times is a look at what the news could have been the day after the storm, had the wetlands still be in place. It also picked up the gold at the One Show's Night of the Living Dead.
